Space 48: An Award-Winning Ecommerce Consultancy
It’s been a busy few months for the Space 48 team, as the business has been involved in a lot of change – for the good. We recap on a time of growth and some recent events, successes and milestones for Space 48.
The office move and bedding into Manchester
We moved into our new HQ at the back end of last year and it’s been a hugely exciting journey. We’ve been through a transformational office design process and we’ve really embraced the buzzing digital hub and community spirit in the city, continuing to build great relationships with top brands and innovators. We love being in the centre of all the action.
We now have roots in Manchester, London and Bath (the latter since our acquisition of Meanbee last year) and it’s great to have this kind of reach across the UK.
Shopware partnership
At the end of March, we headed to the IRX (Internet Retailing Expo) conference, as we announced our partnership with Shopware, who were the headline sponsor of the event.
We had a great time with our new ecommerce platform partners at the event. There was a lot of buzz around the Shopware stand and we were glad to be amongst the discussions and have the chance to connect with other Shopware partners and merchants interested in the growing platform.
We’re looking forward to the future working with Shopware. Our developers are eagerly growing their knowledge and expertise on the platform, and we can’t wait to help retailers get the best out of the platform. Our team have travelled to Germany to be a part of Shopware Community Day to make sure they keep up to date with the latest news and updates.
Becoming a Shopware partner is a demonstration of a commitment to our vision of becoming the leading ecommerce consultancy in the UK. Another move was to partner with Amazon Pay…
Partnering with Amazon Pay
We were delighted to announce Space 48’s recent partnership with Amazon Pay. By integrating with Amazon Pay, retailers can offer their customers another fast and secure payment method, giving them more options for an easy checkout and payment process. This helps merchants to increase their conversions from existing Amazon customers.
With mobile shopping accounting for over 50% of online purchases, retail brands need to create a smooth route to purchase for customers, with flexibility and quick-pay options at the checkout. Amazon Pay helps to do this.

Magento Imagine 2018
What can you say about Magento Imagine? It’s the biggest date in the Magento calendar and this year’s conference did not disappoint!
We were all excited to watch Tom Robertshaw bestowed the honour of Magento Master at Imagine 2018 in Vegas. We’re proud to have two Magento Masters in our ranks (Tony Brown being the other)! Here’s Tom on stage with the other individuals in this elite group.
Tom was a busy man at the conference, also speaking on the panel for the Getting Ahead with Progressive Web Apps breakout session, whilst appearing twice in “The Podcast Booth” with Wagento’s Brent Peterson (and fellow Magento Master). Listen to Tom and Brent talk through the highlights in April #AskTheMasters video and take a look at Tom’s epic Magento Imagine Knowledge Drop blog.
The awards didn’t stop with Tom though, as Space 48 picked up the award for Best Magento Upgrade for our ecommerce replatforming project with Cox & Cox…
Award-winning ecommerce consultancy
The award was recognition of the hard work, experience, development expertise and ecommerce strategy implement by our Magento specialists. We delivered a transformational upgrade of Cox & Cox‘s homeware website to Magento 2, which drove some awesome results that far exceeded their objectives and expectations.
Here’s our MD Jon Woodall and Cox & Cox’s Ecommerce Manager Aynsley Peet, clutching their awards with Magento’s Mark Lavelle at the Imagine event in Las Vegas.

Another thing that’s changed is our website. As we move towards our goal of becoming a platform agnostic ecommerce consultancy, helping brands to work with the platforms and solutions which are right for their business, we gave our website a refresh – we hope you like it!
And we also unveiled this awesome new video, which explores our brand vision, culture, the way we work and shows off our swanky new office. Take a look at the video!
